Clive Newell has generously volunteered his time to head up the fire committee for the HOA, and has received a request from John Schmidt of the Utah Division of Forestry that we improve our internal community fire breaks. He recommends that we create a break of approximately 20 ft between interior lot lines - this would mean 10 ft on each owner's interior property lines. Each owner should also thin out dense vegetation elsewhere on their lot as well - anything that breaks up the vegetation or reduces ladder fuels.  This would allow fire fighters easy access to the back of your property in order to impede the spread of a wildfire and possibly save the remaining vegetation or your home.

Here is the matching funds sheet in pdf form that we've all heard about. Whenever you do anything on your lot towards the end of reducing fire risk, fill out this form and send it to:

The HOA is also in the process of identifying and locating as many sources as possible for fire and drought resistant plants. Many are flowering and will create beautiful spring and summer color. We can use them in bare spots and/or for erosion control. Watch this space for more details.
